Save the Date for 2011. It will be Saturday, April 30th. We hope to return to Goose Creek State Park for next year, but will have to wait to confirm until the new superintendant for the park is hired and arrives. Best of luck to Kelley Thompson, the previous superintendant who allowed us all to play and race in the park. Kelley is leaving the east and headed to new adventures at the Haw River State Park.

“This was my first kayakalon and so much fun. I was truly surprised by how well-supported the entire event was and appreciated that everyone was so encouraging. I'll see you next year and I'm trying to drag the rest of my family there too :)”

February 24, 2010

We have just received notice that the 1/2 Ironman triathlon that was scheduled for April 24th in Washington has been moved to July. Therefore, we will be moving our race start time back to the original time of 9:00am. We had sent previous notice that the race time was moved up to 8:00am to avoid conflict with the other race, since both races shared portions of the bike course. But since the 1/2 Ironman has been postponed, the race will begin at 9:00am. Therefore, check-in and the transition area opens at 7:00am. We anticipate no other changes to the race start time, unless there is inclement weather.

Thank you,

Heather Deck
