"Fishing the Western Pamlico"
by
Peter Boettger
The Pamlico-Tar River Foundation is pleased to announce that Peter Boettger, PTRF board member and avid outdoorsman, has completed his work in authoring a book devoted exclusively to fishing the western Pamlico. PTRF members have enjoyed several excerpts from the book in the fishing column Peter has written for "Currents" during the past year.
The book itself is a wonderful blend of detailed fishing techniques and locations that produce good catches in the western Pamlico as well as enough scientific information to help the reader understand the fishes' habitat needs and behaviors. Publication of the book was made possible through a joint project between PTRF and the Partnership for the Sounds. The book is now available at the PTRF office and in the Estuarium bookstore.
Peter has generously determined that all proceeds from the book will go to benefit the mission of PTRF. We are grateful for Peter's generosity and for the hard work that produced an excellent reference and resource for those of us who are interested in the fishes of and fishing the Pamlico River.
Please call the office (252-946-7211) or stop by (108 Gladden Street, Washington, NC) to purchase your copy of "Fishing the Western Pamlico". Copies are available for $7.00. (For mailed copies a minimum of shipping and handling of $3.00 will be added).
